Mornings got you down? I’ve got good morning quotes, beautiful images, and tips for waking up happier! Often how you wake up in the morning will be an indication of what the rest of your day will be. If you wake up happy and positive then you will likely have a productive day. If you wake up groggy and panicked then you have set yourself up for a chaotic day.
Waking up sucks – we feel ya. That’s why we’ve put together a list of my favorite quotes and thoughts to help get you out of bed in the morning. Maybe with enough positive thinking and testing of morning routines we can all start looking forward to waking up.
Good morning quotes to cheer you up
Here is our list of good morning messages that you can use for yourself or send to a friend. Waking up happy and ready to take on the day is important if you want to be productive. Use these sayings to give yourself a boost in the mornings.
1. You can’t stop the morning from coming.
Wake up at the same time every day. Force yourself to wake up at the same time every day. Research shows it takes at least 21 days to form a habit. Once a routine is made, though, you won’t need to fight yourself in the morning. It’ll come naturally! The start may be a little hard so you’ll have to remain strong and determined to wake up.
2. Each morning bring a new beginning.
Use a light therapy alarm clock. There are many different types, but that basic concept is that it will gradually light up your room by the time you need to wake up in order to simulate sunlight. If you have to wake up early, this is a good way to trick your brain into thinking it’s a nicer time to wake up! The world is waiting for you to start your journey. Let these quotes inspire you to start loving your life a little bit more this morning.
3. Let the morning come.
Leave your electronics in the living room before you go to bed. If you have the strong urge to check your phone when you wake up, put it in the living room before bed. This way, you’ll have to get up and leave your bedroom in order to check it in the morning.
4. Be optimistic when you wake up.
Move your alarm to the other side of the room. Having to get up and move your legs in order to shut off your alarm is a great way to wake you up in the morning. You’re already out of bed, so you might as well get your day started from there!
5. How you sleep and wake are a big part of your overall health.
Make your bed after you wake up. There are a lot of differing opinions on making your bed. If you have trouble waking up in the morning, though, making your bed will keep you from getting back into it. Why mess it up when you just put in the work to make it?
6. Smile more in the morning and you’ll smile more all day.
— Yoko Ono
Never, ever hit the snooze button. Hitting the snooze button and sleeping for that extra five or ten minutes won’t make you feel any more rested than you did the first time it went off. Disable it if you can.
7. Don’t wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
Make a pact with a friend to text each other when you wake up. Accountability and fear of judgment will almost always motivate a person. Get your best friend to agree on a wake up time and hold each other accountable by calling or texting to let each other know you held true to the agreement.
8. Be grateful as you start your day.
Choose a show on TV that starts when you want to wake up. Get excited to wake up at a specific time. If there is a television show you might enjoy watching while you get ready for your day, wake up with the urgency of getting to the TV in time to watch.
9. Wake up well and bring that feeling to the rest of your day.
Get enough sleep. Figure out how much sleep you need! Most people need between six and nine hours. Getting the proper amount of sleep will leave you waking up feeling fully rested and ready to start the day.
10. Take a walk in the morning and start your day right.
Choose your alarm sound wisely. You have two options here: either choose a happy song that will leave you waking positively, or choose an abruptly loud alarm that will wake you up quick and give you a burst of adrenaline. If neither of those options work, try setting both – a happy one to start, followed by an obnoxious one to jump you out of bed. Experiment and see what produces the best morning for you!
11. Make the most out of your mornings.
Set two alarms. If you notice you have trouble waking up even to an alarm, try setting two. Set one alarm for the time you’d like to wake up and another five minutes later. That way, if you do fall back asleep, the second alarm will jolt you back awake and remind you that it’s time to start your day.
12. Wake up and get on your grind.
Have a night routine. Taking care of yourself before you go to bed at night, at a specific time each night, will get you into a routine. After some time, this routine will carry over to your morning and make waking up easier. Having something like this can “cool you down” and prevent you from overthinking at night.
13. Do something new this morning.
Sleep comfortably. Wear a pair of comfy pajamas and curl up with a soft blanket and a nice pillow. A good, comfortable night’s sleep will guarantee you wake up happy and rested.
14. It’s important to ask yourself each morning if you are satisfied with what you are about to do.
Follow a morning routine. The trouble with waking up is usually staying up. Following a routine will get you up and keep you moving. It’s harder to fall back asleep when you’ve already started being active. See more Steve Jobs quotes and check out his commencement speech.
15. Get your priorities straight this morning.
Remind yourself why you’re waking up. Give yourself a purpose. It could be literally anything! If you have a task to do or a person to see, or you just really want to see the sunrise, remind yourself of your purpose. It’ll give you that little boost you need to wake up better.
16. Wake up and pursue your dreams.
Power down your electronics an hour before bed. A lot of research shows that too much screen usage isn’t good for your eyes or your sleep. Powering off your devices will help you get more restful sleep. I find that reading a real, paper book will tire out my eyes and help me sleep at night.
17. Start anew today with a beginner mindset.
Open a curtain when you wake up. Getting some sunlight when you wake up will help you stay awake. This will help your body accept that it’s time to wake up.
18. Learn to appreciate the mornings because it doesn’t last forever.
Don’t sleep in on the weekends. This has to do with setting a routine and forming habits. Don’t sleep in just because it’s the weekend! Doing this will make waking up on time come Monday even harder.
19. Wake up earlier each day so you can more done with less distractions.
Prep for the morning before you go to bed. Getting your clothes ready for the next day or even making your breakfast ahead of time could help ease your morning routine. Waking up knowing you have less to do could help make waking up easier. Sometimes being overwhelmed by things you have to do in the morning could make you just curl up in bed longer!
20. Wake up with purpose for a happy life.
Eat a good breakfast. Eating something too heavy in the morning will leave you groggy and wanting to go back to bed. On the other hand, eating too light will keep you hungry and unfocused.
21. Find something you love that inspires you to wake up.
Do yoga or exercise after you wake up. Pair exercise with sunlight after opening a curtain, and you’ve got a body and mind in motion. Stimulating your muscles will help wake them up and keep you from aching to get back into bed.

22. Allow yourself to feel good this morning.
Don’t drink caffeine too late in the day. Everybody knows the purpose of caffeine: to keep you up! Drinking an upper too late in the day will mess with your sleep schedule and your nightly routine, leaving you up late and tired in the morning.
23. Go to sleep earlier and prosper.
Only use your bed for sleep. Don’t eat, read, watch movies, or do anything other than sleeping in your bed. You might be tempted to stay in your bed in the morning if your body is used to spending the day there anyway.
24. We get a new chance everyday to start again.
“Each good morning we are born again, what we do today is what matters most” – unknown
Taking a shower or bath before bed will help relax your muscles and get you ready for a good night’s sleep. If you take a bath, try using some essential oils in the water to further relax you.
25. “When someone texts you good morning, they’re really saying you’re the first thing I think about.” – unknown
Change your alarm sound every couple weeks. Keeping the same alarm sound forever will make your brain get used to the noise, encouraging you to sleep through it. Switching it up will keep the shock of an alarm and wake you up every time.
26. “When you do something beautiful and nobody noticed do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle and the most of the audience sleeps.” – unknown
Meditate in the morning. If sudden wake ups aren’t really your style, meditation can help ease you into the day. This will help you start the day with calm and peaceful energy.
